The miracle arrived!

Last Sunday we announced the arrival of Baby Noah Andrew Clark who came Saturday January 12th at 12:36 AM weighing in at 5 pounds & 5 ounces.  The church family is delighted.  The Clark Family is elated.  I was immediately reminded of this passage because we all had prayed for twelve years for this:

1Sa 1:27  For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him

So that made last Sunday good no matter what else happened.  As you can imagine, we are all still rejoicing in the Lord for this answer to our petitions to the Lord.

The AM service last week did not have our choir singing because Seth was attending his newborn.  We survived without the choir singing (barely), but we were blessed by a wonderful piano solo of “Blessed Redeemer” by Miss Anna Carpenter.  It was flowing & so well done.  It was an old song to warm old & young hearts alike.  The words on the screen ministered to our hearts as the music soothed us simultaneously.  I then preached from Genesis 28:10-22 on “Crisis Brings Correction.”  Many folks spoke afterwards of its divine effect upon them personally.  PTL.

The evening service HAD the choir singing even though Pastor Seth was not there.  The ladies opened in unison & then broke into female parts which was lovely.  When the men joined in with their true harmony, we were blessed indeed!  They did a fine job singing, “On my Heart Imprint your Image.”  We had several congregational songs led by Rev. Dave Lind.  Then rather than having a preaching time, we had one of our periodic congregational meetings in a “fireside chat” forum.  I presented my proposal to the church family that in 2019, I would be only half-time with the church.  Since I began Social Security in 2019, we could reduce the church’s expenditures by that amount which would allow for some financial flexibility in the new budget which will be presented at the annual meeting in a couple of weeks.  Rather than wait until then, I presented this proposal now so that any questions or reservations could be handled before the annual meeting.

I am delighted to report to you that the spirit of the church family was absolutely admirable.  Their loving response & care for both me & Pastor Seth was so refreshing.  It was a spiritual time of the Biblical principle to love the brethren as yourself.  PTL for such a church family as this!

So that is the report from Bethel from this past week.  PTL from Whom all blessings flow.

Pastor S.
